Limited to 20 participants, suitable for ages 12 & up.

Learn or practice the Wobbly Line Drawing Technique with local artist Deborah Smalley. No drawing experience necessary, anyone can draw with wobbly lines! Learn a little more about Kensington’s history as we sketch and wander along Phillips St from The Parade to the Pool.

Meet outside Karl Chehade Dry Cleaning, 296 The Parade, Kensington, ready for 10am start. We will do some warm up sketches at Chehade’s then walk a short distance to sketch another Kensington scene, pause to enjoy a drink or a snack at the High Street Café, then finish with a sketch of Kensington’s groovy 1950s public pool. All done by noon-ish.

The Rising Sun Inn will celebrate 180 years of history on 26th October from 12 noon to 7pm with

Tim Costello AO is one of Australia’s most respected community leaders and a sought-after voice on social justice issues, leadership and ethics. For 13 years Tim was Chief Executive of World Vision Australia. He is a spokesperson and advocate for the Alliance for Gambling Reform, which campaigns for law reform to prevent harm from poker machine and online sports gambling.

On Sunday 12th October 2025, commencing at 3pm, Tim will be speaking at a Q & A session at the Rising Sun Inn in Kensington.

This is your opportunity to meet Tim and ask him questions on world affairs, national politics, social issues, sport and anything else you like!

This lovely green space bounded by Thornton Street, Richmond Street, Bridge Street and Second Creek is the focus of a community-led project supported by the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters and Green Adelaide.

Borthwick Park working bees are held on the 2nd Sunday of every month 9-11am. Come along on Sunday 11th May and see what we get up to.

It’s Mothers Day so we’ll be mothering our young plants, tucking them into comfy beds of mulch and giving the place a good tidy up!!

Volunteering locally is a great way to meet new people in your neighbourhood. Bring the kids. Invite a friend or neighbour to volunteer with you. Jobs for all ages and capabilities. No prior gardening experience necessary. All training and tools are provided.

Wear enclosed footwear and clothing to suit the weather. Bring your KRA volunteer vest if you have one or we’ll issue you with on on the day.

All voters in the Federal Electorate of Sturt are welcome to attend this important meeting. You do not need to be a member of a local resident group.
Each candidate will be allowed time to canvas the local issues and to give their vision for the electorate.
The audience will then be given an opportunity to ask questions to help decide who should represent the people of Sturt in the Federal Parliament.

This lovely green space has been the focus of a community-driven revegetation project since 2009, kindly supported by the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters and Green Adelaide. Prior to commencement of the project the majestic remnant river red gums in the park were marooned in an expanse of kikuyu grass and the creek bank was weed-choked and badly eroded. Hard to imagine when you visit the park today!

Working bees are held on the 2nd Sunday of every month 9-11am to maintain the understorey of shrubs, vines, grasses and ground cover established over the past 15 years.

Join us in the park on Sunday 9th February between 9am and 11am. We’ll be topping up mulch to keep soil moisture in and weeds out, tip pruning shrubs, evicting pesky feral grasses, hose-watering the newer plantings… whatever needs doing!
